Welcome to Elaleni Counselling
Hi, I’m Catherine — the counsellor behind Elaleni. I chose the name because it means a safe haven in Zulu, and that’s exactly what I offer: a space where you can feel heard, supported, and gently held through whatever you’re facing.
I’m a qualified integrative counsellor, which means I’ve trained in a range of approaches — but I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all method. I’ll meet you where you are, and together we’ll find a way forward that feels right for you.
Over the years, I’ve worked in education, the NHS, and with various charities, supporting people through grief, trauma, and life’s quieter struggles. I’m registered with the BACP and committed to working ethically, with regular supervision to make sure I’m offering the best care I can.
I know that reaching out for counselling can feel daunting. You might not even be sure what you need — just that something doesn’t feel quite right. That’s okay. You’re welcome here, just as you are
About Elaleni
Elaleni Counselling offers a calm, compassionate space for therapeutic support—accessible online and by phone across the UK. We work with individuals navigating grief, trauma, anxiety, and life’s challenges, offering empathy, integrity, and person-centred care. Each conversation offers space to reflect, understand, and begin to move forward with hope.
My path to becoming a counsellor began with personal loss — a life-altering experience
that reshaped my world. Through grief, I was supported by others who helped me begin to heal. Their care inspired a journey of self-reflection, growth, and eventually, a calling to support others.
I went on to train as an integrative counsellor, combining professional learning with lived experience. As a registered member of the BACP, I offer trauma-informed, compassionate support tailored to each individual. My aim is to provide a service that is accessible to all, offering safe, professional care from a qualified counsellor.
